Barbara Rea has been instructing and training for over 40 years. A natural teacher, Barbara has an innate ability to find the right communication style that fits each rider, and horse. With seemingly endless patience, she faces every challenge with a positive approach, which motivates and builds confidence in her riders.
She believes in helping her students to set goals and work to achieve those goals, and has helped her riders and horses realize success from the local 4-H level to the world level. A perpetual planner, Barbara helps each rider plan each year, pay attention to the small successes and ultimately become the rider they hope to be.
Barbara's dedication to the horse industry has lead her to be the Shelby County KEEP Team Leader, an AQHA Professional Horseman, serving on the AQHA Membership Services Committee, an AQHA Affiliate Council Member, and has served two terms as KQHA president and was elevated to Director Emeritus.
In an industry where heart is sometimes absent, Barbara puts he whole heart in her work and treats each person and horse as an individual, giving them the attention and thought they deserve. Barbara finds her true joy from training and instructing in helping people realize their goals and truly enjoy their horses.
